Roy: Thanks for this interesting bit of information. I am hoping that some biography is written for the Searchers. There are so many interesting stories I am sure that most fans have yet to hear. I hope that this publication, should it be printed, is the impetus for all of the Searchers to discuss more about their interesting history. Outside of John McNally, Frank Allen and Mike Pender and very brief comments by Chris Curtis not many of the Searchers are available for comment.

Hi All, well having just put a message at the Chris Curtis discussion decided to got for broke and put one here as well. I am amazed we are really going to get this biography. I actually wrote to these two women some years ago and got no reply. Yes I do believe some fans will be perhaps distressed and disappointed by the revelations regarding Chris' departure but I really think this stuff needs to be done while the guys are all still with us. At least they can make sure the truth is told. I have always feared nothing would be done till they died (heaven forbid) and then there was scope for fiction in the story. For me I will believe it is done when it is in print and will not hang by the finger nails waiting. Cheers Pam

I hope the book by Laine & Jule Rawlinson does make it into the bookshops. They have been able to interview all the Searchers, both past and present (except for perhaps Eddie Rothe)and are 'remote' enough from the group to present the full story in a totally unbiased way. If they are in contact with Alan Clayson, then perhaps he may have been able to help them find a publisher for it.

Let's hope this effort is published. It sounds as if it may provide for much discussion.

By the way Tim, have your heard when this biography is likely to be published?

It appears that this book is unlikely to be published, if it was ever written?. The recent source I quoted in a earlier posting, now appears to have been taken from a article written some years ago and was published in a magazine only last month, it transpires that the article contained a number of inaccuracies, although the references may well have been correct at the time the article was written.
