I use a 100w Marshall head through 2 4x12 Marshall cabs (as some of you probably know) & when you get used to the pure Marshall valve overdrive, distortion pedals just don't quite 'do it'. An overdrive pedal uses way too many frequencies as opposed to valve o/drive, especially when there are two guitarists in the band. I do use an auto wah for a couple of solos, a boost for solos (my amp is so old, it only has one channel), a reverb & a chorus which I actually use for only one song.
A Ric 330/360 through a full Marshall stack doesn't really need much else!

As of now I just plug into a Hiwatt and play. However, I have a Janglebox on order.

Can a bass player chime in?
Currently I'm running the following:
*Hartke VXL Bass Attack pre-amp/tone shaper
*Digitech Bass Synth Wah
*Boss bass chorus
*Morley Dual Bass Wah
*Fulltone Bassdrive (just got this today actually & am quite excited about putting it through it's paces)
All this with a 4003 into a Yorkville XS400H, Yorkville XC115 & Fender BXR 4x10 cabs. Plus I have an Ampeg B100R too.

Chris, let me know about the Bassdrive. I'm currently looking for a bass overdrive. I would love an old Shin-Ei Companion Fuzz, but they are VERY difficult to find.

Tony speaks the truth. I have a 30-year-old Marshall Super Lead 100, but I use a half-stack. Still, I don't run anything else through it -- it doesn't need it. Just the Ric 360/6 into the head, and boom. My head actually has both channels working, so I bridge the two with a short cable and blend them. But as Tony and others know, the two channels share tone and presence controls, and only has separate volume controls. I never found a distortion/OD pedal to match what this beast does on its own.

I over the last 3-4 years, I seem to have ended up with rather a large collection of pedals - around 22 at last count.However my main pedals are: Roger Mayer Voodoo Vibe, Boss CE20 chorus and DD20 delay, Boss SD1 overdrive.When my Janglebox and Carr Mercury amp come next month, I may end up using less effects.
What has caught my eye is the Epix Gigrig that allows 10 pedals to be switched in and out of the loop easily.

360/12 >> Boss Tuner >> Barber Tone Pump >> Boss digital delay >> fender twin.
The Barber Tone pump is great, it has 2 channels, I use one with the "pump" or overdrive on "0" so it acts as a compressor, sort of, and the other more distorted.
I will be getting a jangle box soon hopefully, then I can have 2 distortions!
