Not a quote, but I liked when they all showed up with cold sores/fever blisters on their lips. What were they sharing?
Build a man a fire and he'll be warm all day, set a man on fire and he'll be warm the rest of his life.

Sharing? I think it is more than a co-incidence that in a few scenes the scene you mention, Nigel (i think) introduced some groupie beside him on the bed as "my special friend" Suzi (I think that was her name).

My bets are on her .....

Speaking of Spinal Tap...

Check out "A Mighty Wind," if you haven't already! There's a segment depicting The Folksmen during their "experimental period" in the "60s", playing some beautiful old Ricks.

Your album "Shark Sandwich" received a two word review, it merely read... "Sh*t Sandwich."

That is the funniest movie of all time! Long live Tap! (trying to find unlaut keystroke...)

The lads from "The Young Ones" did a subtle (in typical English fashion) riff on the Spinal Tap idea, back in the mid-80s. It was, I believe, a Channel Four production, titled "Bad News". The first production was alright, but the second one, "More Bad News", is very funny, and, I would argue, more spot on than Spinal Tap.

When I saw Spinal Tap back in 1984, I chuckled a couple of times (though the girlfriend in the film who kinda takes over the band hit too close to home - similar to our lead guitarists' know-it-all girlfriend). It was only after leaving the theatre that the bunch of us began to laugh while recounting the gags.

So, both Spinal Tap and More Bad News are fine fare.

You said an all girl school? Oh....we thought you said a tall girl school...and that would make us all look very short

Mick...I was gonna mention "Bad News" on this thread earlier but nobody EVER knows about it.
Spnal Tap is a classic to be sure, but the 2 Bad News films are painfully funny.

Colin the bass player (Rik Mayall) is a f***ing riot!

Nice to have a new member who's "in the know".

HELLO, CASTLE DONNINGTON!

Lemmy is a crackup in More Bad News!

Have you heard the Bad News LP? It's full of stuff that wasn't in either TV production, including a really, superbly AWFUL cover of Bohemian Rhapsody, actually featuring the actual Brian May! I'm always impressed by someone who can play really badly on purpose, and make it sound genuine!

There's also a Christmas song, "Cashing In On Christmas". The whole thing is a riot!

Anyone know if any "Bad News" stuff is still available? I'm a big "Young Ones" and "Bottom" fan - sounds like this would be right up my alley!

A friend of mine bought the Bad News LP back when it was new, and it is hilarious - much funnier than the tv productions in my opinion. To this day we still quote stuff off it and have a laugh. Somewhere here I even still have the video clip of Bohemian Rhapsody, which I taped off tv. If I ever found it on CD I'd snap it up in a flash. Is it even released on CD?
