Nice bass Bob, that MG is fine. It's almost a proto with the extra dot inlay..cool..
I saw Sham 69 back in 78. We couldn't get in as we were under 18 and just as we were leaving JP came along and signed us all in on the guest list. An hour later after being at the bar with all the other liggers buying us drinks we were well happy...Don't remember much about the gig....

It almost looks like a late 60's surround to that horseshoe...

Andy you should have got someone to take a photo of Andy Prince, giving you the bass! So what sort of music does your band play?

Very cool bass, Bob. Maybe RIC didn't have all the features quite worked out for the v63 at the time that one was made. If it is a 4003S that somebody put v63 goodies on, he went all out! The split tailpiece, horseshoe, toaster, truss cover, knobs, and pickguard would all be v63. I'd say look under the pickguard(scratchplate) for an extra hole next to the screwhole nearest the top of the bridge pickup. Also look under the truss cover for an extra hole that wouldn't be as far out as the screwhole at the end of it.

It looks like it has a 2 piece neck. Any thoughts?

Thanks for the pics Bob. Are there other early V63s out there without walnut wings and round heel?
