Martin,

It sure appears to be shill bidding there. The price was being driven up against your bid, hoping your reserve was higher. Very unethical seller, in my opinion. It has happened to me 4 or 5 times over the years, and I always refuse the offer.

That's a very good point Peter.

I've been offered the second chance at £27.00 and the actual winning bid taking into account the non payers bids being invalid is £8.00.

I might offer that...at least I wasn't scammed into paying £28.00.

Be careful....some of the second chance offers are bogus as well. They come from an uninvolved third party that just lifts the details and puts them onto an Ebay looking email. This has been quite common lately. If you are interested, email the seller from the genuine auction page and see if it legit first.
