I wasn't about to pass that one up at that price. And I especially wanted one in Jetglo.

Ron.....I hope you like it more than the s8.
I owned an s5 for a while and just could not adapt to the string spacing so I sold it (with minor regret). You can't go wrong for the price though !

Well I have small hands and short fingers, so I'm hoping it works for me.

And to think if I had never found this forum, I would have probably been content with the 4003 I bought back in October. Now Rickenbackers seem to multiply like rabbits around my house.

Well I look at this way - if I didn't jump on it, one of you was going to.

No, you'd probably be collecting more Fenders!

Duuuuuude, that was cold. After my 4003, I lost some of my interest in Fenders. I will admit to owning a Fullerton-era '62 Reissue Jazz Bass and a 50th Anniversary Precision Bass, though.

I too, have love the interest in Fenders. I sold my lone AV JAzz Bass to help finance my 4001V63!
Now maybe an AV Strat would be another story.

Well it arrived today and it is GORGEOUS! There is just one dent on the backside of the scroll to keep it from being mint, but the paint's not chipped and I'm happy. The spacing is tighter than most basses, but I seem to be able to adapt to it. And it is light! i'm going to restring it tonight and let it rip!
Thanks for the tip, Jared!
