I knew that was an option from the factory at one time, but I didn't know if it was still on the books as available..
I also had a lefty CS, ordered it new and received in April 1992, #C5 8478...

Nope, had it restrung. I bought mine from Southpaw Guitars in 1992(?). I don't know the S/N, I guess I could look

And I think it's No.258 or thereabouts.
I did order my lefty 340 with RH stringing. And yes, I learned on a "borrowed" righty Fender Jazz played upside-down. You can read a Reader's Digest version of the story here if you wish:

Guys,
Not to hijack this thread but as I read thru it, I started thinking about the tone and the power of the CS pickups as compared to the 4001 reissue and the current Hi-Gains.
Could anyone elaborate on any differences???
