- I guess it's possible, but I just don't think that this dude is George Harrison.

- Could it be Paul's brother? Possible, but he doesn't look much like Mike either. Pix of Mike at that time are a bit hard to come by as he was always the one with the camera (and we're ALL thankful for that!).

That does look like a Hofner violin played right handed. With Paul on drums and Pete on mic it's likely that they were just fooling around, probably with no audience. The MysteryMan could very well be a long-forgotten member of some other band. Just a thought.

- Mona Best's (Pete's mon) home at 8 Haymen's Green in West Derby, a village on the distant outskirts of Liverpool. The basement was turned into the successful Casbah Club, a teenage coffee house and venue for bands. The Beatles played there often and, in the summer of 1960, added Pete Best to their line-up on drums.

Interesting shot as it's not immediately clear who is really in the photo.

I think it could be George in that photo. It does look like someone is playing the Hofner righty, and if someone were going to do that, why would they look outside the group? George could probably manage to play a simple bassline on the E-sting of the Hofner with 'upside down' stringing. I imagine it would be easier to play a lefty bass righty than it would be a lefty guitar righty since basses usually play single notes and can pass with very simple lines, especially if they were joking around.
Anyway, great finds guys! These photos are amazing!

Very true! This is a great pictorial thread. Keep it up, Kent.

- Had to add one myself. The only person missing from this photo is Andy Williams, or maybe the Osmonds.

- Lighting may come into play with this photo, but John's hair was a lot redder than many people realize.
