Thank you Paul for your insight about the color changes than can happen to a Ric over time in regards to the Turquoise one I had mentioned I bought. Mine was really a very bright heavily metallic true green though and certainly not Turquoise as we all know "Turquoise" to be as a color - so I'm still at a loss as to what happened. From what you say though - I really must have gotten an oddball though because the guitar wasn't even very old and in just like new condition.

I never understood why Two-Tone/Autumnglo/Walnut/Montezuma Brown types of dark sunburst have come and gone so often, in my mind they should be as standard as Fireglo. They've certainly been around long enough.
I agree.

The colors I would like to see are the above . . .. especially the sunburst like the one done by, I think, jingle_jangle on his restoration thread over at the Rick-forum . . . man that is beautiful and has the elegance of a Steinway piano!!

I would also like to see White on White with Chrome hardware

And Seafoam Green with cream or parchment guards and an ever so slight, I mean slight, bit of amber to the clear coat.

Thanks. That one was for friend and repeat customer Kevin Kuney.

Here's a '58 345 that's going out soon to John Williams. It was a battle--it needed lots of everything and a new back to boot. But it'll look and play like new, and we all know how great those early Capri pickups are!

I enjoy painting all colors--challenges vary. Sometimes it's hardest to do a simple JG or BB. Just depends.

Sorry I had no photos of the Turquoise Ric, Paul....When I received it I was so upset by the color that the only thing on my mind was to send it back since it was so metallic green and not Turquoise. As for posting any photos of what I have now - I just got a new digital camera and am not sure how to set it up for pic posting. Previously I had only a VHS camcorder to send inferior pics via email from VHS tape so I have to re learn everything now. Also don't own any "unusual" Rics now - just ones everyone has already seen alot except perhaps my 330 Desert Gold.

I just purchased my first Ric--a MID 4003 (per Avitar). Once I decided on the purchase, I thought for sure it would be Jetglo. But, when I saw the MID, I flipped. However, I'd love to get my hands on a Blue Boy and could see that or Burgundy as a perm Ric color.

Peace.

Another burst color is what I would like to see added permanently.
Green Burst.... Black Burst.... Brown(Monty) Burst....

Also....
I would just like to say...This is the longest thread I have ever started. Mine usually die after 3 posts.

That's a great finish Ron! Is that a solid burst? It looks like a solid burst in the photo. Either way, it's a stunner. :D

Looks like a 360/12 C63 judging from the fretboard radius; more curved than the 10" radius of a V64. I looked about the Rick Resto page at the corporate site n the PW projects thread but couldn't find the posting that referenced this guitar, so it must be a way back. I'm guessing the three large knobs are individual volume knobs for each pickup, while the two smaller knobs are treble and bass tone controls, and that the guitar is a conversion from a 360/12 C63 to a 370/12 C63. the bound soundhole is an extra nice touch. :)

Paul, that one is a solid (opaque) burst. The same finish appears on a 335S in Bacon and Day Rick book page 31.

Here's a similar "Redburst," except this one is not opaque black and red, but translucent "Black Cherry" around the edges and a dark Trans Red in the middle:
365 OS Redburst 1968

It's a 370/12V64 with a treble booster circuit.

Thanks for the correction Paul. :)

Typical-I always guess something...or everything incorrectly.

Ah, thanks for the update Ron...and the additional eye candy! :D
