I was home sick ... minor (but debilitating as far as getting out of the house) bit of food poisoning ...

lesson learned!

Sorry you didn't make it, Gary.
I had a good time and it was really nice of Vito and Kenny to break in the speaker on the AC-15. I don't get a chance to crank it at home.
Maybe a suggestion for the next one:
Before the jam everyone submit a list of songs they like or can play, we sort them out, and put out a set list. Seems in 8 hours we can break them down into difficulty of play or genre or whatever and there will be less time fumbling around for charts. Plus if the jam is going to start later, us long distance attendees could get some licks in earlier and still get home at a reasonable time. Plus you might get to learn a new song before the jam!
It would be really helpful for us out-of-towners that don't get to regularly play with the usual suspects.
I know Paul is busy with law school, so I would be willing to help put a list together for the next jam.

Steve -- glad you got back safe and sound and didn't get bogged down in the rain !!
You've got some good points about sorting out some songs by genre and degree of difficulty and fine tuning a couple of different set lists, in order to encompass everyone's tastes in music. I realize its tough for you long-distance Mini Con Commuters, where geography limits the ability to practice with some of the other local guys. So we should certainly try to accomodate these concepts you mention and sectionalize the next jam into a couple of different "flavors" and genres to please a wide variety of tastes.
I know Paulie was mentioning something similar, afterwards, about assembling some song lists. So we'll definitely seek more input and try to structure things a bit more and put together working lists from everyone's ideas.
With NAMM and post-NAMM dinners and everything else going on the last couple of weeks, [with work, school, family activities and social activities ] ---- I think we were all kind of "winging it" at Saturday's jam

Isn't that what a Jam session is all about? IMO it would suck the fun out if it was entirely scripted, calculated, and rehearsed.
I am in the minority on this opinion, though. (besides, all I did was play drums....I can't really talk!)

Great time, guys. As usual - massive tip 'o de hat to Paul. I finally got a chance to take Joey's Seafoam Green out for a spin. Beauty axe! Though next time, maybe we'll bring our capes. They were at the dry cleaner this weekend.
