Is there a way for the public, or the members of this forum, to get notified if there is a dealer placing an order? I was only made aware by the dealer, which was great, but it would be nice to know in advance of special orders so we can get an early jump. I don't suppose the dealers would mind having them all pre-sold, either.

:? Well, in this particular case, I found out about it directly through this forum. Tim at Sound Affects publicised it well before it was finally confirmed for sale and he then gave further advice on this forum when it was formally going on sale (i.e. when he would accept a deposit). I called (I think on that first day of formal sale) and placed my deposit. So, as far as I can tell, this was handled openly and proactively in exactly the way you suggest it should be.

Moot point, given there won't be any further specials for a very long time, if ever.

..fair enough, but that wouldn't preclude Rose Morris vintage reissues being reintroduced into the standard line up at some stage....or would it?

In fact, we've considered doing so but in light of the current experience, I think it might be better to save that until the next generation.

Not so sure about that.
The thought of a Ruby 330/12 is pretty special to me! :)

I've been so disappointed in RIC the only hope I have left is 21 frets on the 330 and or the 360 and I doubt that will ever happen either. I thought California dreaming was a reality.

Cheer up Damon....the UK street retail on these 21 fret white reissue guitars was the equivalent of US $3,200 (or more). That will buy you a mint 21 fret '60s original 330 or 360 in the US. It's a close call, but I still prefer the '60's originals in terms of tone and playability...so there's plenty out there for you to go for.
