Ordered my copy last week. Apparently arrived today. Might have to leave work early due to a migraine....

The book looks great at first glance....I'll go through it this evening...looking forward to it!

I sent the Amazon link to a couple of friends who will be ordering a copy. I suggest using a better shipping package to ship these in. The bubblewrap envelope is not sufficient enough to protect it during shipping and mine got bent on the corner. Really enjoying the book though. FYI, on page 22, 3rd line from the bottom, it should be Creedence, not Credence.

Also, I didn't realize they made Burgundy 4003's in 1971. (page 122)

Damn. I went and spelled credence correctly but the band didn't!

I received the Book about Rickenbacker Bass on yesterday by post to Czech Republic. It´s very nice. Congratulations for this work.

Awesome job on the book Paul. Really enjoying it!

A couple more for the future revision:

Page 9, trade show model caption, line 4, "instument".
Page 50, 5th line from bottom, should be "A handful of fretless 3001 basses were made."

Sorry, this stuff just pops out of the page when I read it...

We try our best but sometimes things just sneak past, sometimes.

Thanks, Rod. Sometimes my fast typing drops a letter. Don't know how I could have missed it at spell check. Maybe didn't spell check the captions.

Actually "A handful of fretless 3001 basses was made" is correct. If you take out the prepositional phrase "of fretless 3001 basses" (and a "handful" is singular), you would have "A handful was made." I know, it sounds a bit daft, but it is correct.

In this context, handful is a nonspecific plural, so "were made" would be correct.

"Handful is a collective noun of the inanimate variety, much like array, bunch, group, heap, multitude and range. We often use these words before of and a plural noun: "a bunch of blogs," "a heap of problems," "a multitude of medicines." When this form emphasizes the collection of items as a unified group, a singular verb may be appropriate: "There was a bunch of grapes on the table." But when the emphasis is on the individual items in the collection, then it's better to use a plural verb like are or have. The grammar books call this "notional agreement," since the notion of a collective noun can be plural even when its formal grammatical marking is singular."
