Just watched Backbeat (Special Edition) which is like a 'directors cut".... longer than the original. And it is better. The movie (of course) still has the same glaring (and unforgivable) historical and technical errors, this is clearly the best Beatles biopic thus far.

I agree. It is a good film but not as accurate as some would have hoped. In my opinion Nowhere boy was more musicaly accurate than Backbeat, although it does not go into the career of the Beatles as much as Backbeat does. But Backbeat is the best ' biopic ' so far

I've had that interview on audio (bootleg record) for many years (decades!.... since the mid 70's).... but this is the first time I've seen it with own two bloodshot eyes.

ps: Today, can you imagine any band getting away with giving the Hitler salute to a crowd of thousands?

But in the other hand Backbeat does have some of the Worst Beatles related Puns/comments Known to man. So be careful, It's a Trap!
Kieran....I agree completely!!!!! They repeatedly took lines straight out of AHDN! (pathetic script writing, if you ask me)

Well, Lennon softened it up by leaving out the toilet seat.

That 'sieg heil' salute was in very poor taste and extremely funny.

You and Tom Petty both!

I've played one of those Duo Jets before...in Houston. Great guitar, I'd choose it over a P-90 Les Paul. (gets ready to be prosecuted by LP lovers)

Great pix Kieran!

Jake.... thats not YOU, is it???

For me, there are two types of electric guitars.... the ones with 3+3 tuners (LP style) and the ones with 6-inline tuners (Fender style).
Everything else is secondary.
