I really looking forward to the trip. I just checked and found out that I've got enough airlines miles for a free trip out there.
So do I drive 1,500 miles each way and bring three of four Rics or do I fly out there for free and bring just one? Another alternative is to make arrangements to ship a few Rics to a fellow forumite already living in SoCal.

Ok guys and gals. Me and the wife have decided to make this trek to So Cal from Maryland. MARF II was our first confluence and I'm excited as a kid in a candy store and so is she(she's never flown before). I need to know when the festivities begin so I can book a flight and reserve a room. Check in time is at 3:00 PM so I didn't want to get there in the morning and not have a place to go and on the same token I don't want to reserve a room for Thursday too if things don't start happening until later on Friday evening. You get my drift? So what's the best time to get there? What is going to be happening? Are the festivities going to be happening close by? Do I absolutely need to rent a vehicle? What is planned for Friday, Saturday and Sunday? I can't book a flight until I know more. Please advise. Thanks
