Brian,

The Beatles "I call your name", over , and over, and over
(Although, that song needs the growl of a Gretsch - did I really just say that on a Rickenbacker site? )

Other fave's of mine are America's "Sister Golden Hair" (that sounds super cool to me on a Rick 12 string).
Shocking Blue's "Venus" (with the bite of some Rick toasters behind it  ):
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZsO1hwix ... re=related
Johnny Rivers "Secret Agent Man": 8)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MXGAif4d ... re=related
The Byrds "Have you seen her face" and "Renaissance Fair".
Along with the usual Tom Petty, Who and CCR suspects.
Oh, and The Beatles, The Beatles, The Beatles!

Truth be told, even though I have been playing off and on since 5th grade I'm not that good. Mainly a cords kind of guy.
Solo's still make me break out in hives.
I dream of the day I can even attempt "Eight Miles High" or "Tambourine Man".
I am in awe every time I watch the DVD of the Byrd Man cutting that out on a "narrow neck" 360/12.
But I keep trying to hack away at it. :D

Yup... we all play the Beatles.. That goes with the territory here.

Do you know any Rutles tunes?

I knew of the Rutles but don't play any of their songs. I didn't even know that they did two albums.

After checking it out in Wikipedia, I 'll have to track some of it down.

Anything with Eric Idle has to be a hoot!

Niel Innis "Ron Nasty" is the musical genius behind the Rutles, he even has a Beatles connection too, he was in the Bonzo Dog Do Da Band which is part of the Magical Mystery Tour film, and Paul McC produced an early Bonzo track called I'M THE URBAN SPACEMAN.

The songs (from 1977 the TV special) are note perfect recreations parodies of the orignal Beatles tracks, (often with many sources joined together to form one song).

Classic example is the RUTLES tune HOLD MY HAND (Yeah! Yeah!). The Chord sequence is almost the same as ALL MY LOVING and the lyrics are a mix between I WANNA HOLD YOUR HAND and SHE LOVES YOU. The effect is really odd, especially if they haven't heard them before... People go "I know that song!" - even they have almost certainlyneverheard it before!

Their 2nd album "ARCHEOLOGY" released at the same time that the Beatles Anthology in the early 90's came out is not quite as strong, but still contains some lovely songs like I LOVE YOU and KNICKER ELASTIC KING...

(Sadly with George Harrison's death, (he was inteh original TV special and therefore was a key part of the joke!) the protection that the project enjoyed for all these years came to and end. After lawsuits the orignal album's song copywrites are now owned by Northern Songs, and all future releases will credit them as "Lennon/McCartney/Innes".)

YAY! The guy that I bought my 620 from, actually called me... he found the original TRC! I thought for sure if he found it, that he'd sell it on ebay. And it is a standard, so it has no model number on it. Maybe the first few didn't have the model number on it, as they were a new model?
anyway..... YAY!
it is what it is.

Congrats! Yes my June 80 620 12 had no model number on it either.. So the shipment of TRC's with model 620 on it must have arrived over the summer...

Sounds like an excuse to take more pictures and post them!

Here's a new one of me and my 610 to inspire you!

Just love them blueburst! Especially the 620's with the white trim. Just dandy.

Makes a nice screen saver too, thanks!

Thanks for the compliments on the 660/620 Bluebursts. When the BBRs came out, I was taken with the finish color and determined to collect one of each model. (Still working on that.) I didn't order any of them -- I got them from dealers and online, one at a time. Of the guitars shown, the two 6-ers are from early 2006, the 620-12 from mid-2006 and the 660-12 from late 2007.

I'm glad you enjoy the photo. I had to wait a long time for a sunny day and nice weather to get that outside shot, as these BBRs don't photograph so well in indoor lighting.

It's great to be able to share these guitars here with folks like you that really appreciate them! :D
