I'll be there! I'm going to try and get my buddy Mike Newton to go-he has a few nice early Bakelite Ricks and a Frying Pan. Maybe I can get him to bring 'em along. BTW, I've been trying to find the registration page (I'm new, so bear with me) for this shindig.

Welcome aboard the RRF Ron and welcome to SCARF !! Glad we found you on the company Forum.

There's no Registration page for this event, just your posting gets us the names to put on the attendees list. Glad to hear you pal Mike N. is coming to. Check out some of the Ricken jam song lists some of the guys are suggesting and we'll get you into a jam set (or two) !!

Is there a set list for the 80's group? Just looking to get up to speed.

Allen Bridgewater of the great LA Surf band "Outerwave" played bass with me in the "Tailspin" youtube video from the Surfguitar101 Convention (to see it, go to you tube and search: "Surf Jam Tailspin"). There are 2 or 3 different videos listed-play the one posted by "midwestsurfguy"-it's the best quality.
Allen is going to play bass and I'm going to play guitar on it as a "warm up" for the Surf Jam. Unless we get more participants, he and I will play guitar as needed. He will need to borrow a bass and guitar.

I believe Paul A (don't hurt if I'm wrong, Paul) is doing an '80s set. I'm doing a British Invasion-type set.
On a somewhat related note, does anyone know what happened to Collin Whitley? Normally, he'd have beyond a number of posts in this thread...

Yes, I heard from Collin yesterday. He has just been busy with starting a new job. He confirmed he is attending SCARF and bringing his two Rose Morris models to display.

This may go down as the forum understatement of the year...maybe even for the past few years. As a matter of fact, I might need a drink tonight!
Details to follow...

I'm actually HAVING one right now (don't tell my boss!).
I recommend starting early at The Starting Gate with a Bloody Mary and let it take you wherever.

Skip, just let me know which songs you need me on. I was offering because I wasn't sure if there was a bass player available. I know most of the songs and of the ones I don't, I will learn them. It's up to you. If you have your bass player by all means let him play.
