Hi all
I'm brand new to the forum and wanted to list my top guys in no real order.
John Entwistle of The Who
Paul McCartney of The Beatles
Bruce Foxton of The Jam
Nikolai Fraiture of The Strokes
Ronnie Lane of The Small Faces
All fantastic players, each with a very different playing style.
Plus at some point in there career they've all played a Rickenbacker (although Ronnie Lane may have only played a Ric guitar in Slim Chance)

I know I'll probably get a bit of stick for this, but another amazing bass player who's really underated is Dave Peacock from Chas 'n' Dave.
If you listen to a lot of their songs the bass lines are awesome. I've seen them live many times and he makes it look effortless, especially singing at the same time too.
