I was really thinking of a conversation I had years ago with Mitch Lee who was related to Joey Ramone and had taught Dee Dee how to play bass.

I mentioned to him that I read an article where Dee Dee said he didn't know the notes past the 12th fret.He responded that he didn't know them either.

My apologies for stereotyping punk rockers.

I can't help it, sorry, since someone put a pic of Bruce up there I've got to put a capture pic I did out of the Jam DVD. This is a close up of his right hand and the top of that Ruby Red 4001 of his.

Recently I played a couple of shows with "Enorchestra," a project to cover Brian Eno's "Taking Tiger Mountain (By Strategy)" in its entirety. Eno himself loves the project and ended up writing the liner notes. Fun!

Anyways, here's me with my '72 4000. It never fails to get approving comments from people, and if you really pump the low end on the amp you don't feel like you're losing much bottom.

Another art-farty gig shot of the '72 BG for the record.

Hmm... Sorry, but in the b & w picture Bruce Foxton is playing an Ibañez or some such heresy. Image
A Rickenbacker bass is much like the Jaguar E car - perennially ultra-fashionable.

That is so sweet looking! I think a 4003 blueboy would be a real compliment to your Sea Green.Image
