Special 75th Anniversary guitar?

OK Eric,
I hope it is something other than just guards.
How about a nice MOP INLAY to signify 75th anniversary?
Hey, dreaming is free....
Or, how about a NICE PREMIUM WOOD 4003, like a 4002 with a Silverburst? Not too thickly applied, but like the Blueburst. Light enough to see the woods underneath?
And add a CERTIFICATE of Authenticity #'d and all that good stuff.

Okay, this is just too much fun not to chime in. I do think it's a grey variant of some kind. I'm parsing Mr. Hall's, Paul's, and Eric's comments like crazy, and I just can't escape the "Smokie Joe", "Herring", and "Silver Surfer" comments. Because they're a mischievous lot, we've got references to "Red Herrings", "Wild Cherries", and "Brown Herrings". I don't put much stock in the red herring, because we all know that's a ruse. I don't put much stock in "wild cherry" because that would bring us pretty close to Burgundy. I also seem to remember reading that this finish was discovered "by accident". Query: what finishes would be on hand that would lead to this "accident"? Paul's brown comment could be a simple reference to the fretboard being rosewood.
I don't think this colour will be silver per se because I'd guess that the "accidental" aspect is something to do with Jetglo. I'm satisfied that this is a solid colour, not a burst or transparent finish. I think I also saw someone posting something about it being metallic. We know that it is likely to have a special pickguard of some kind (hence no 4004 application).
So, adding all that up, my best guess is a sparkling, dark grey colour with silver guards and TRC.

Personally, I'll take anything that is commemorative of RIC'S 75th. I doubt that I'll be able to celebrate the 100th unless some major medical miracles occur in the interim!
