I;ve been waiting over 32 months for my 360/12C63

it took 14 months but my 360/6 fg shipped out today

I was lucky enough to buy all 3 of my Ricks new and in stock. I originally was looking for a 4003FG, but when I saw that NCM had a 4003AFG that just arrived, I floored it 48 miles to the closest fax machine(I live in a small town)and got that puppy. I didn't think I would be able to get the AFG COY model, as so many get swooped up by collecters on forumites alike.

I spray painted black stripes on it and epoxied melted green army men in strategic locations all over the face. I can hear the subtle harmonic enhancement of the spray paint, as well as the "take no prisoners" thump the army men give it. When my punk polka band makes it big, I'm sure RIC will be making a signature model

You could always buy an Agile Harm, which looks like a Rick, and play that until the real thing arrives.

Those look suspiciously like humbucker pickups. I don't think I like the sound of humbuckers. (Unless that is you go by the initials B.B.) I think I'm more of a single coil fan. Except I'm not much of a Fender fan, either. (Unless your name is Eric, or Jimi, or James [as in Burton]).


I had the chance to play a little on a used 370/6 string Saturday. Wonderful guitar. Great for blues, rockabilly,...even did some Chet style finger picking on it. Full-step bends on the G string? No problem. Wonderful guitar.

Bryan Beller? Brian Bromberg?

If those are like Gibson Firebird pickups , they would be be considerably brighter than a standard full-size humbucker. But , still not a toaster or hi-gain

Since the Agiles are Korean-made, you can bet that they have one of the two varieties of HBs that you'll see on Korean guitars. Don't let the cover fool you--it's only a stamping. Chinese guitars also have, typically, two types of HBs. All of these lack subtlety, IMO.

In ShenZen (China), there are multi-story, huge buildings with each floor being divided into trade show-sized cubicles, where tiny manufacturers and distributors who are trying to get a foothold in the marketplace, display their wares, both physically and in catalogs. If you want to take a (usually small) quantity with you, you can fill out an order form on the spot and pay for your order, and they send a "runner" out to pick up your goods offsite, either from a factory or storage warehouse.

Those pickups, for instance, are nearly generic, and are repped and sold by hundreds of different firms, but made by only a few. Same thing for knobs, tailpieces, and even necks and fretwire.

BTW, I had an Agile Les Paul Deluxe (Black, three-pickup, "fretless wonder" style) back in '05, and it was a really nice instrument, considering that it cost only about $240.00. But it had that "Les Paul Knockoff" sound. Those pickups, again.

Your explanation Paul reminds me of why I might not be such a fan of most humbuckers, and some single coils. It's possible I've heard too much music played on guitars with second rate pickups.
