Thanks, guys! B may not be the nicer of the two just comparing them side-by-side, but it's definitely the best piece for this bass. But top wing A will get used for another project. And it'll be paired with a bottom wing piece cut from the same plank, so yeah.... it's going to be a nice set. For those pieces I'm thinking: Blueburst 4003S Custom. (of course)

But actually, since the '68 is my studio baby, I think the touring basses would have to be the Frankenstein Lefty, The Harley Bass, and ~ the RM 1999, of course. Hells YEAH I'm gigging with that sucker!

No updates to really write home about (or post on the RRF). I've hit a dead end for now - lack of access to tools I need to square the edges of the body wings and neck wood. And it turns out that Jeremy @ Rudy's is incredibly swamped and won't be able to do the refret/fretboard reset. However, in my boredom I managed this:

Thanks, Cjj.

And boy - how's that for a face that only a mother could love... a mother, or a really, really, really drunk woman. I think I took that at 4AM after I had pulled the fretboard.

That kinda sounds like a euphemism for something else doesn't it
