My frets on my '73 4001 from July has medium frets and my '67 4005WB has small vintage frets. I kind of like the smaller frets myself, they help get the action nice and low.

i find that the small frets mean you must press a bit harder. I tend to end up actually pressing the wood and not simply against the fret. hmmm.

And the body, it's difficult to capture the bass, but according the guy on ebay with the shadow, mine's beat! What a maroon...Image

That headstock shot is beautiful, Kendall!
The black strings look nice on a Shadow!
What brand are the strings?
Does the black coating (if there's any) flake off after being played for a while?

nice shot Kendall!

Yeah what a maroon moron-your bass looks pristine.

Needs a Fauxshoe (TM) tho.

Are those the DR Black Beauties?

Thanks Paul,
The strings are DR black Beauties, I haven't had any problems with the coating yet after 6 gigs with the strings. The strings are pretty dead and and it's time for a new set before the next show.

I've got BBs on my Shadow, and yes, they do look cool. No problems with peeling yet.
