Tell Me Why, If I Fell and ISHKB were in the released film although not in the concert scene

She Loves You was in the concert scene

amazing... the perfect song... the perfect finish

And then one of the quintesenntial SLU vids:


You Cant Do That SHOULD have been left in the concert scene, although if I had to cut one
song out of that sequence it would have been that one.

There is also the well known deleted scene of Paul walking in on an actress practicing lines.
Unfortunately, this footage has apparently been destroyed. Dang!

Here's an interesting promo in that the song didn't appear in the film. Its also, IMHO, one of the most
effective examples of how George's lead guitar "made" the song...... even without a lead break!

it would be nice to have the concert scene songs in full length. If they performed "You can't do that" in full length, they probably did it with the other songs, too.

Especially "Tell me why" is of interest, because of John's vocal track:
It seems "the other track" of the initially double tracked voice (the double tracking was partially used for the U.K. stereo mix) was used for the original film take, probably by incident.
For the standard mono single mix they used the "better" track.
You can recognise "the other track" best in Tell me why's middle eight, because John is a bit early at "..,if you only listen to my please.."

As far as I know, Doug Sulpy (the 910's Guide to the Beatles' Outtakes) was the first to find this difference, but could not find out why it was so.

To me, today, it was just that they mixed down the wrong of the two vocal tracks of John's voice for the film take.

This difference is not found in the newer HiFi sound mixes of the movie, although there are special film mixes of "And I love her" (Paul's vocal single tracked, but without reverb)
and "If I fell" (Johns intro single tracked without reverb, very charming).

The one we're looking at appears to (possibly) have the triangular inlays, while Paul's Rick of that era did not. Also, the pickups dont seem to match.

I'm not saying that the image we're looking at is not Paul's bass. It could be. But it's sure hard to tell from that photo.

Where's George's Ric 12?

It looks like Paul's bass to me. I think it was the first LH bass Ric made, and I don't think there were many bands who played LH Ric basses in '66, correct me if I'm wrong.

It almost looks like they were just thrown on the floor. They didn't seem to bother with guitar stands
back then.

The Rick 12 was usually kept at the front of the stage, not the back.
