Of the three 1964 Sullivan performances, I think #2 is the best... for the sound and visual quality if nothing else..... fantastic.

Best live version of This Boy ever.

This is probably one of the coolest collection of Beatles pictures I've ever seen, though they all have watermarks. Worth a peek though.

Has anybody else wondered why George has the strap upside down?

I guess you mean backwards... as in that end usually is attached to the guitar's tail.
Personal preference I guess.... I never realized that in this picture .
I've done the same thing on some of my guitars.... just liked the way it looks for a particular strap.

This scene from HELP! with George playing John's 325 is one of my favorite George looks of all time.
Fantastic.

I've always been impressed with the studio quality sound they got out on that windy spot next to the ocean.

My hunch is John had the strap on like that. But who knows?

And, George plays Paul's Hofner bass in this video as well! Fab!

Yes. But even better than George playing John's guitar is Paul "playing" the girl's arm!

No I actually mean Upside down, If you go to Min 1:48-1:50 in this video, he has the metal "scales" against his shoulder.

Maybe George simply didn't like the look of the Vox Python Guitar strap. I know I never did.

on the other hand part of the backing on Georges strap is a lighter color (brown leather)

while it appears that the Vox Python strap was all black

It appears that is was a backwards mounted strap, but maybe not John's Vox Python
