A HUGE Thank You to Peter over in Britain :)

She is a '91 MG in just about mint condition, and I AM IN LOVE!!!!!!
I remember when I first saw a V63...many years ago. I thought to myself.."WOW!!!!!! What a COOL looking bass" Never dreamed I'd own one.

Whenever I can figure out just how to get a decent picture of it HERE...I will post one or two or three.

I LOVE THIS BASS!!!!!!

Long time no hear, Greg, way to make a comeback! Congrats and yes, indeed, pics when you get them.

Jeff, isn't that lefty a C64?

No, it is a V63; the easiest telltale is the shape of the pickguard near the selector switch around the pickup surround. It is squared off, not curved to follow the radius of the corner of the surround, unlike mine, which was made by Tony Dudzik for me, which is more like a C64 pickguard.

Thank You guys for the kind words!!!!!!!
I do believe that THIS bass is THE coolest guitar within my collection---about 17 now, 5 of them are Rics.

Jeff, I've been meaning to comment on your new avatar-----personally, I think it's hysterical!!!!!
(Cats CAN have an attitude.....can't they????)

And...as for John Simmon's bass pictured above......I think it IS a C64!!!! It is my understanding that ALL V63's---even Lefties---have the correct, or "Non-reverse" headstock.
C64 and C64S models DO have the reverse headstocks.
Correct me if I'm wrong please.

I think John Simmon's bass pictured above is a 4001V63 PMC. Or was is just designated as a 4001PMC? Not very common, and meant to be just like Paul McCartney's (only lefties were made, and with the upside down headstock). They may have been a Japanese-market-only thing, I can't remember.

Congrats, Greg. You can't go wrong with a '91 V63!

A HA!!!!!! Perhaps you are right!!!!! Yes, I am aware of the 4001V63PMC. And yes...it WAS a Japanese market only instrument.
Since they are SO rare...I don't think of them. So...it never occured to me that John's bass could be one of those.......if it IS........Kudos to Mr. Simmons for snagging such a collectable Rick bass!!!!!

Thanks for pointing that out.

No prob. Glad I could be useful! Two other ways to tell a PMC from a lefty C64 are the white nut and chrome Schaller tuners on the PMC vs. a black nut and nickel reverse tuners (with the smaller ferrules) on a C64.

Rock on!

Those are great looking Vs whatever they are!
I am trying to track down a set of the nickle reverse tuners if anyone sees a set in their kitchen drawer.
