We just finished having our kitchen redone and I know it will be a while until all the particulate matter from sanding the painted trim and backsplashes is finally out of the air and off every surface in the kitchen and surrounding rooms. Luckily the paint was rolled and brushed on in this case so the mess is easy to deal with, paint would certainly not be so.

Christmas arrives a bit early today.....at least the Snow.

Next week when I have more time, I'll get busy cleaning up, loading the pups (the HS will go into the existing surround) and also soldering a .0047uF cap into Dane Wilder's fine example of a quality build harness. Add some DR Sunbeam .045 - .100 nickel rounds, four HX FX 4-40 saddle screws,(thanks Jeff) take the truss tools and nut files out if needed, and the Peterson 450.

This is really a fine example of a Rickenbacker bass. Thus far, I'm very impressed with RIC current product.
For once, I (kind of wish) I wasn't leaving for Baltimore and flying the B-17 this weekend, so I could dig into this project straight away.

LOL! Yeah, that Heritage B-15 ( #18 of the original 50) is much preferred over this Reeves 225 for recording. Now a GT-200 Matamp from Britain, for gigging.....I'm not so sure!

Sweet! I have a B-15R from about 1999-2000'ish which is very nice.

The fretboard does look really nice on this example. Once the toaster/horseshoe combo is in place that bass will look and sound quite wonderful...

Actually, I sold the Lull over a year ago, I was just looking for a Reeves pic at the moment. The Lull was very well made and 8.2 lbs. (chambered I'm sure), expertly balanced, Plek'd, etc., but I just couldn't get used to that stretch to the first fret. It's sticking out there an extra 4 inches or so, due to design. After several months it ended up hurting, so I knew it wasn't for me. Most noticeably, Lulls T-bird pick ups are outstanding. I don't know who's doing them, perhaps Lollar. Mike told me they replicated them from several sets of 64's.

Indeed, it is nice thank you. While I wont have time to start working on it until next week or weekend, I did play it for a solid hour tonight and its going to be a fine player. I'll get some pics up when its finished. For the first time, I got to experience the push-pull. I had everything wide open. It had a nice fullness with the cap bypassed, (reminded me of the Wondermints' 'Carnival of Souls' tone) and I have to think whether I wish to solder a cap in (I could alway remove it or bridge it) or not. Of course, classic Rick tones (for me) have the cap.

I had the same issue with the '87 Alembic Exploiter I used to own. Due to this type of body the top strap pin is at or right near the heel of the neck shifting the bass far to the left, so to speak. In hindsight, I probably should have kept that bass, it was really cool and played nicely (other than the above mentioned issue) especially so after I had it converted to a fretless.

I played a couple of Lull T-Birds at the 2010 NAMM Show, both 4 and 5 string. That was the first time I ever played a Mike Lull instrument, very nice!

Ahhhhhhhhh...... My bass finally arrived!
