Thanks for the props, guys. Actually, I'm surprised that I haven't heard a full-on negative comment yet. But I'll give it time...

Here's another mod... the first of the two chrome specials. One of my repair guys in Seattle dubbed it the "Harley Bass." Chrome everything like the '76 FL, plus it has the V63/C64 reissue pickups, and is wired for series/parallel, .0047 cap on/off, and phase in/out. Also, it's strung B-E-A-D.

The different tones I get out of this bass are amazing. Run the pickups in series and the volume practically doubles, particularly the lower mids. The phase reversal is surprisingly useful. I expected it to have only novel applications, but when run out of phase with the cap in line, it gives a nice tight bottom end boost. All this additional volume & sound shaping with no active electronics. Highly recommended for anyone with a Ricki they don't mind altering.
