^^^ John's favorite chord figure: the barred (with pinky) E7.

Yes; a barred-at-the-fifth-fret E7 is an A7. I was referring to the fingering, not the chord being played.
She's a Woman:
barred twelve = E7
barred ten = D7
barred five = A7
He used that pattern a lot. Can't recall specifics from the Let It Be film but we see this quite often.

He would also use the pinky placed on the 4th string 4th fret when he played a regular old D. (correct me if I'm wrong) but think that technically made it a Bm7 (?) .... but hey, close enough.

Well, with no bass note that would be a bit ambiguous. The notes you refer to, with a D bass, would be a D chord. With a B bass, it would be a Bm7. With an F# bass, that would be a D/F#.
I've played with guitar and bass players that don't know the D/F# notation. Guitar plays a D chord; bass plays an F# note.
John's chords in All My Loving verses fall into the same four-strings-only patterns.
Back to those groove Beatles pictures!

- It's pretty definite that John had a fling with Jane Mansfield.

- Miami rehearsal. The Gretsch looks good on John.

- Colorized

It's always seemed to me that JPGR really cut loose and enjoyed themselves
while playing

Rehearsals (in Miami, me thinks) for The Ed Sullivan Show. Perhaps they had to map out stage placements, and
producers had to see who went to the mics at what time so they could pre-arrange close ups, hence the mic-less
mic stands.

There are a few shots of George holding one of John's guitars (and even Paul's Hofner), but this Miami rehearsal shot is one of the few I've see the other way around...
maybe the only one?
