Yeah, but there's only room for one bass amp on the stage.

Surf Song List : Updated 10/7/10
datru was kind enough to relinquish the rhythm on Rawhide and Rebel Rouser! YOU can be Link Wray (nobody cooler) or Duane Eddy (except maybe him or Dick Dale) for a day. Amaze and impress your friends!
Outerwave Allen has requested one of the rhythm parts-to be determined-on Baja.

Tailspin-El Rey DLP, lead; Outerwave Allen, bass, Dave D., drums {ADDED 10/5/10} *
Apache-datru, lead (or split lead with someone); Dave D., drums; pehayes, bass
Pipeline-datru, lead (or split lead with someone); Dave D., drums; pehayes, bass
Walk, Don't Run-datru, rhythm; rondocmorse, lead, healydrummer, drums; pehayes, bass
Penetration-datru, lead; Dave D., drums; pehayes, bass-(we're doing this one in F# minor-some do it in Gm)
Out of Limits-datru, lead; Dave D., drums, pehayes, bass; elreydlp, organ part on bridge (unless keyboard player wants it) & rhythm
Wipe Out-datru, rhythm; rondocmorse, lead Dave D., drums; pehayes, bass
Rawhide (Link Wray-not TV Show theme)-elreydlp, lead; Dave D., drums; pehayes, bass
Rumble-datru, rhythm; Dave D., drums; pehayes, bass
Rebel Rouser-Dave D., drums, pehayes, bass
Baja (Astronauts)-{ADDED 10/5/10} **
elreydlp (whatever guitar part is left); Outerwave Allen, Rhythm TBD; Dave D., drums; pehayes, bass

* If someone wants to learn the Rhythm-go for it. Otherwise, we'll play as a trio.
** on the record there are 3 guitars-lead, chord rhythm, "muted" rhythm with heavy 'verb. Sign up for the part you want

Contingent 4: (This CAN be used, it won't kill me if it's not)
1. Byrds - Feel a Whole Lot Better
2. Rolling Stones - 19th Nervous Breakdown
3. George Harrison - My Sweet Lord
4. Kinks - I Need You (This is for you, Paul A!)
5. Tom Petty - Runnin' Down a Dream

Also came up with a Beatles set list of songs I haven't seen yet:
1. Help!
2. A Hard Day's Night
3. Can't Buy Me Love
4. I Call Your Name
5. Paperback Writer
6. I'm Down
7. Long Tall Sally (Little Richard)

I've got a lot on my plate already, but I can play Feel A Whole Lot Better (along with most of this Forum, I assume!), sing and play rhythm on Runnin' Down A Dream, and play A Hard Days Night if you need.

I, too, want to sing on Runnin' Down a Dream. Want to sing a double lead vocal? :D Will your Showman be present?

I'm playing rhythm on everything except a solo on "Refugee", which I hope everyone has watched the arrangement I want to base it off of because if we're not in sync...well...

Go ahead and put me down for the rhythm part on Apache. My old band 2000 Pound Bees used to play it, so I'll refresh my memory tonight.
Live each day like you're leaving town tomorrow.

Like I said, I've got a lot on my plate. You take Runnin' Down a Dream. Let me know on the other stuff.
Re. My Showman: Stage space is pretty tight. I think we have a couple of Twins and an AC-30. They should be enough. Wouldn't hurt to have a backup Twin or two and an AC-30 backup.

You've got it Ron! We will be doing The Ventures version which uses Dmaj instead of Dm and a few other minor changes. David is playing lead and I'm doing the "fills", so we'll have 3 guitars on this one.
I have you for lead on Walk, Don't Run and Wipeout as well.

Jake, you don't want to do that cool little Dave Davies' solo on The Kink's "All the Day and All the Night " ?

Major Surf/Instro Announcement:

Since we are splitting this group into 2 sets, I've decided to do a Surf set and an Instro (NOT Surf) set.
We currently have 5 Surf Songs and 6 Instro Songs. since they are typically short, I'd like 8-10 in each category. Please submit suggestions and SIGN UP.
And thanks to the guys who have signed up-we're gonna have FUN!

On a somewhat related note, does anyone know what happened to Collin Whitley? Normally, he'd have beyond a number of posts in this thread... :?

Thanks for lookin out, Jake!

I just started (yet another!) new job, which is super demanding time-wise. Hopefully it'll slow down a bit soon, so I can hang out here more often!

I will, however, schedule time in for SCARF---see ya all there. :)

Hey Paul- that's one U2 song I haven't played. I know "I Will Follow", "Vertigo", and "Pride". Sorry I haven't kept up with these posts...been traveling a little. Look forward to the 16th!
