Cool! Thanks for posting. According to the linked review Michael Stipe was in the crowd but, sadly, didn't join Peter, Mike and Bill onstage.

It was a great show! I was Kevn Kinney's bass player for almost a decade. I didn't play last week but I was in attendance.

Have you also worked with Mitch Easter? He posts here, as well.

I do not know Mitch Easter but we have met. I played at the REM 30th anniversary show in Athens with my band, The HEAP and Mitch also played. I worked for REM for several years occasionally loading/unloading gear for tours and recording. I would get a call every now and then when I was needed. I always enjoyed those gigs.

Ah! That solves the question (might've been another thread) whose bass it is!

Not mine but it belongs to a mutual friend. He loaned me that bass for an REM tribute show so my sound could be more authentic

Great version of the song, and an amazing show. I travelled over to Athens (from Sweden) for that weekend with a whole bunch of great REM events; the concert, film showings, release party etc.

Yes, that is me. Also playing are John Keane and David Barbe. I hope you enjoyed Athens.
