COOL!
the parts that you do not use (fingerboard ,upper wing, etc.), throw them away?

Thanks, Jeff! I'm pretty stoked over the piece I got for the new neck block, too. Front to back it looks like the same grain. All the pieces will look even more better-matched once I sand the rest of the "Orangeglo" off the old pieces.

Mario - I'm definitely not throwing the original upper wing away. I'm keeping it for the time being, although I don't know what I'll use it for just yet. Maybe it will go into a different bass project - a Jetglo finished 4001S where you can't see the rebuilt corner that got sanded down, perhaps. I could fill it back in with wood epoxy or something. Or who knows... maybe I'll see if someone wants to buy it.
The fretboard is going back on the bass. I removed it to make routing the new cavities easier, plus it needs to be reset again anyway since CHIP LITTLE of WINFIELD VINTAGE botched the first reset.
Me? Bitter? Oh HELL no. I'm way beyond that. I only mention it again as a caution to anyone who doesn't already know how badly Chip Little of Winfield Vintage messed up the bass to begin with. Did I also mention that Chip Little put the wrong size frets in after I made it clear that this was a vintage resto project? When I brought it to his attention post-facto, his "explanation" was: "Oh hail - ah gots TONS o' small fret warr! I hate usin' thet big stuff!"
So...
? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ?
Jesus what a numbskull, that idiot. Sometimes I think he intentionally sabotaged the bass. I mean, how otherwise could someone's "work" be so blatantly sh!tty? Enyhu ~ at least it will be corrected soon.

How about using it as a decorative corbel under a kitchen cabinet, or something like that?

Not surprising, John. And sorry I took a lengthy Anti-Chip sidebar - this thread should really be more about the progress of the bass, not how it was messed up. But man - that guy really sucks a$$.
Interesting idea, Jeff - use as an ornamental fixture. I think I'll leave that up to someone else, though. After thinking about it overnight, I've decided to sell it. If anyone's interested, feel free to PM me here.

You could make a cool piece of headwear out of it.

Hmmm, maybe I should consider buying this...
I have a strange, weird desire to say that I actually used a Rick for firewood...

HA HA! These are all great ideas!
Scott - I'm drawing it out a bit to add to the suspense. Yeah... that's the ticket.
