+1!
I just love to browse through a book and actually feel it. I guess because I sit in front of a computer all day, the thought of doing the same to read a book is, um, not real exciting...

I'm really enjoying the book. The Bass Player publicity is great and should drive sales.

A question for Paul Boyer - I haven't read every word, but I was almost thinking you would have a chapter on fakers. Maybe you address in the text? Just curious on your thoughts.
I still keep getting totally wowed as I work through it. Last night I decided to educate myself on the 4004s as I didn't know much of their history. Wow....

I thought about a chapter on "Rickenfakers" or "Fakenbackers" or whatever, but the book is about Rickenbackers, not others. I suppose my "field guide" approach could have fit a "similar species" feature, but there are other sources for such information. I believe Joey's Bass Notes has a section on identifying fakes. As the Chinese are now making knock offs, I'd have to delve deeper into researching that ever changing market segment as well.
Do books on Fender Stratocasters and Gibson Les Pauls show the fakes, too? Nah.

Paul, I agree with you about not putting any faker information in your book. Your book is a homage to a great bass guitar and that's all I want to read about and look at. If I want info on the fake Rics out there, I can come to this forum.
I read the book this week after receiving it on Monday, I can't say enough how excellent it is. It makes me appreciate my Ricky even more. Again, my congratulations on a fantastic book.

Yeah, it's a book about Rickenbacker basses. Let someone else write the book on fakes...

Hey Paul - I received my copy yesterday (Amazon & FedEx screwed up the original order delivery for the 16th, so it was delayed). Wow....FANTASTIC BOOK

! Thanks for all your hard work in researching and compiling everything. The end product was worth the wait for all of us!
Thanks also for referencing me on page 5, and including a shot of my 1967 Burgundy-glo 4005 in the lower left corner on page 40! (You took that at the RIC 75th Anniversary SoCal Confluence, right?)
Take Care, and Best of Luck with many sales of Your Book!
