We all tend to forget that EVERYONE, famous and not famous alike, starts out with the basics in a "garage band," and that it takes awhile to learn to play to a level of proficiency where another person can stay in the same room, much less ever make it to a concert stage
.
INDEED!.... just to be able to go to gig and sound half decent is a much larger accomplishment than most people realize. All the more reason to appreciate how great the Fabs were.
It would be so great to have a recording of the Parnes audition. But we have recordings of them at the same time and it does sound pretty lousy in my humble opinion. ... but also this shows just how quickly they became good in Hamburg. The difference between them going to Hamburg for the first time in the summer of 1960 and them knocking them dead at the Litherland Town Hall at the end of that year is evidently pretty freekin amazing.

Never saw that one before. Looks like it was taken in the Bahamas during the making of HELP! ...... Ringo is definitely looking prettier than usual.

I remember the Frank Ifield recording of "I Remember You" and it sounds like Paul was trying to emulate that version, including the key change at the ending. Neat.

McCartney´s handwritten set list for the gig in Eskilstuna, Sweden, October 29, 1963, removed from one of Ringos drums after the show.
I beleive this was the regular set throughout the Swedish tour, with Long tall Sally as en encore.
