Paul, You've excelled yourself. What a superb job!
Melissa, purple happens to be my favourite colour too, and I can easily see why your one-of-a-kind Rickenbacker has a special place in your collection. Very, very tasty!

Geez, Paul, wow...gorgeous. I've not been a huge fan of purple either, but that has changed my mind. I feel like ripping a can opener across my 360-12 just to have an excuse for you to work on it. (Well, no, I'm not THAT stupid...)
My favorite pic so far is the shot across the body from the upper bout -- just stunning. It looks like a "catalogue cover" shot. Can't wait for the next set of pics.
I think Mr. Hall has missed out on a hell of a COY here.
And Melissa -- one of the things I'D like to see is a "family portrait" of all your unique Rics when you get your new baby. We may all need sunglasses for all the dazzling colors!

Congratulations, Melissa! Hoping to see the pics of you or your kids playing it in the future! BTW, i've never met anyone whose dreams are colored purple before... Unique, that's all i can say!!!

Superb work, Paul! I can see where it would be difficult to capture, properly, the true color in a photo. In the first photo the guard looks like it is white, obviously just the lighting. I can't imagine what it looks like in the flesh.

It's pretty obvious by now that "The Curmudge" needs no further recommendation as a brilliant refinisher of these wonderful instruments. Plus, his photographic skills allow us all to see the fruits of his labours to the fullest and best extent.
Quite frankly, I just can't see enough of this lovely stuff! Sorta makes me want to buy another Rick (trashed or not) and have him perform his magic on it just to see some more.....
Congratulations again on a wonderful job, Paul.

....And as for me, I am glad to know that I have another project for the Curmudge to work on; I'll be able to relive this incredible magic again with the 481!
BTW, Aitch, I opted to save the champagne until I actually have the guitar in hand; we opened a bottle of Australian Chardonnay instead, to celebrate a wonderfully happy day!

Yeah..... I say it every year and it falls on deaf ears... Go Vikings!!
Interesting that you ask, Paul. I was thinking of starting a thread in that colo(u)r vein. And you are
definitely correct! I sure as heck wouldn't buy one here and send it over there. The idea of $700 USD freight in addition makes it a far less attractive proposition also.
OK you guys and gals.... find me a cheap(????) Rick! I'll happily join the back of the queue....

Excellent choice, Melissa. The Casella family up in Yenda make some great wines and have won many awards including the coveted Jimmy Watson Trophy for their 2003 Premium Cabernet Sauvignon. To date (since 2000) they have exported over 21 million cases of Yellowtail wines!
They have more than 13% of the US imported wine market, so it's not surprising it's available up your way!!

Yellowtail just wound up a huge ad campaign here in California (might be nationwide, too). Any Trader Joe's is stocked with it at good prices.

Yeah, its like $3.99 bottle. I'm sure Yellowtail makes a good wine but stay away from their bargain priced wines, yeeechhh!!
