Wolfgang, back in the early 90's I had a 350
with 24 frets. Then a bought a 355JL with
21 frets and then I ended up selLing the guitars.
Now today I have a 350V63 which I like and I
like the 21 frets over the 24 frets. That's
just me.

Wolfgang: I would argue that your preference of 21 over 24 frets is based on tone and playability. Having the neck pickup under the harmonic makes a difference to my ears.
Life, as with music, often requires one to let go of the melody and listen to the rhythm

Wolfgang, I haven't played any other guitar
that sounds like my 350V63 does thru my AC-30TBX.
That a good setup and most local bands that I do
go to see has the usual setup. You know Fender
Strat or Tele thru a Fender Amp and you know
they all sound the same. With the 350V63 and
the 325V63 you can get the JL sound on the
early Beatles music. As I said in another
post I would like to another 350V63 in
a different color. I have a Jetglow and I'm
thinking a Blueburst or Mapleglow will do just
fine.

Kent cool looking guitar what strings are
you using with the guitar? Also how is the
setup and what Amp are you playing thru. On
my 350V63 I have Rickenbacker strings and I'm
thinking of switching over to D'Addario 10-46
to here if they sound better.

In those pix, the gold pickguards look a but more mustard colored than they are in real life.
I'm using Pyramid Med Flats. The guitar came (brand new) with the neck straight and action set a little high. I lowered it and had to lower the pickups as well. Truth be told, it's a little too low as I get some buzz on high frets but thats acceptable to me. I haven't done anything to the truss rod.
I'm still in the process of moving (just bought a new house and will move in on Sept 1 - yea) and so haven't played it through anything but my Fender Deluxe. A side-by-side comparison with the 360 I have shows a noticeable difference between the toasters and the hi-gains. I'll eventually be playing it through a VOX AC15 which has been a wonderful amp for the 360.... hopefully the 350v63 will compliment the rich warm tones of the 360 with a brighter sound.
The small size (21 frets are more than enough for me) and light weight make it a joy to hold either standing or sittin in a lounge chair. The only thing I notice is that my right forearm rests on the edge of the 350v63 which is sharper than the more comfortable rounded edge that I'm used to with the 360. This is something I'll likely get used to pretty quickly, but it does feel a whole lot different.
I love my 350v63. RIC has a real winner here. Now if they would just give us the gold plastic option on this model I wouldn't have had to order from Pickguardian nor buy a gold TRC from another source. As I mentioned, the gold TRC seen here is from a 620 and it fits perfectly.

Very nice, Kent. I'm a little bit 'on the fence' with the gold but perhaps the pics don't do it justice. A 'live' viewing would more than likely sway me one way or the other...... probably to the positive side.
After all, it is a 350v63..... my absolute favourite Rick!!

Kent, as Howard said the 350V63 is his favourite
Rick and mine to. I do have a set of Pyrmaid
Gold and I was thinking of trying them on the
Rick. Going thru the AC-15 you should get a
good sound. Besides having the 360 what made you
buy the 350V63? You have two good guitars all the
best with them and what color is the 360.

yes Kevin. I checked and the trc did come from a 660. The screwholes were perfectly matched to the 350v63.
I have two 360's, an older/darker color FG and a MG with black plastic (since its actually a refinished tuxedo). The 4th Rick in the stable is a MG 620/12 with black plastic.
No matter what color combination all I can do is say that I like the 21-fret 350v63 more and more. I'll be able to report more in a few weeks and I give it a side by side tryout with the AC15 and pedals.

Kent, the more I play my 350V63 the better it
feels. I was thinking of selling it and my
Steinberger GR4 to buy a reissue Vox Teardrop
or Phantom. The way it looks now is that I'm not
going to do that. I'm just going to save and then
buy the Vox Guitar that should be next year.
Howard, do you find the 350V63 and easy guitar to setup? Also what are your settings that you
have on your Amp to get your sound.
