A friend (actually, my former boss in the engineering department who was the first station manager at the 'new' South Pole station in 1976) just sent me a link to this video...he's 1/4 Slovenian, and someone had hipped him to this choir's performance of Toto's 'Africa':

They are a very cool group...I went to youtube looking for more clips, and there are quite a few. Here are two I liked...these folks are very good at singing in languages other than their own:

The timing of finding out about this group is interesting, because Merisa and I were looking for clips of Eastern Euro brass bands just the other night (research for our Boba Fett and the Americans project), and we stumbled upon these guys:

Even though I was never a big fan of Queen, and this song in particular sort of drove me nuts, the way these guys handle it is hilarious and cool. Pretty amazing voices for a bunch of horn players...the lead guy totally slays me...
I didn't get where I am today by being on time...

Great stuff Dane. Wow! It was all good. Now I see what Schultz (Hogans Heroes) did when he was not working on the series set.

Dane, great stuff. Slovenian Africa - goosebumps. Brass Rhapsody - excellent. Always loved both songs. Thanks.

My sis-in-law had emailed a link to just the rain part of Africa, so I sent the link to the whole song to her in return.

There's nothing like seeing a tuba player dancing around on stage... That was hilarious as well as totally awesome!

I would like to submit this short video from a San Francisco band representing, the good the bad and the ugly. The guitarist is particularly disturbing.

Rather reminds me of "The Monster Mash." Only Monster Mash was funnier. This was just kind of campy, and cute.

I like everything they do...they're like Eraserhead in a midnight showing at the Nuart after eating a teaspoonful of morning glory seeds properly processed in a coffee grinder...

...except maybe quirkier...

...anyway, how about Literal Videos?

This one's got a FG Rick 330--it's SOOO '80s!!!
