How 'bout some of me, the bassman?? I have a few guitar shots here but I was originally a bass player from about 1976 until 1982. I took a 25 year hiatus and picked it back up in 2007 and have really enjoyed rediscovering what drew me to music to begin with - the low note!

Back in 1979 with a '73 Fender Telecaster Bass -

Jam session at a friend's 50th birthday - I'm playing his son's Ibanez bass. The sax player is a top vascular surgeon - and a superb musician to boot! Someone's cool 330 in the background.... Thankfully the pic is kind of murky so airbrushing was not required....

I think the murkiness adds to the aesthetic appeal of the pic - a clear shot of my face may break someone's monitor....

I posted this in the "gigs" area from my last show but it's probably more appropriate here.

Me on the ES-355 and our other guitar player, Donald, on the tele.

That is a 2010 Classic Stingray. I just noticed that it is no longer available in that color! Phew.

I think it would look great with a white or white pearloid pickguard, but that's just me.

Do you use the mutes?

I have a gold pickguard on it now, which I made. Rick-style back painted. :D

Now THAT is gig attire done propah, Dan! ¡Muy suave!

Here's a shot of me muggin' with my metal-riffic Charvelle axe in 1990, alongside Cosmo Studios icon and namesake Cosmo Topper.

I still have that guitar - it's my main 6-string for recording. I have it modded every-which-way with all kinds of coil tapping series parallel phase-reversary blah-biddy-blah. I was a pretty big Randy Rhoads nut, and got so heavy into guitar, that the bass actually took a back seat for a short period. But I eventually came to my senses and snapped out of it.

Thanks Evan and Mark.

The Mariachi suits work well for us (and the chicks dig 'em :)). If you cant have fun, why do it?

Mark, I went through the Metal stage too. Actually I still dip in from time to time. We've been known to stray into some Black Sabbath, Dio, Kiss, etc. at the SoCal Mini cons when the camera's are pointed the other way. I went through a Randy Rhoads thing too but I just didn't play it well enough (Paul A. can though)!

Instead of the Charvel, I went with the Les Paul Custom. I still have it. I'm a fan of the classics.
