Here's an updated pic of my 4003 JG, with vintage knobs I received yesterday.

RIC should go back to only using the vintage knobs, they really do look best! I have them on all my Ricks.

I just realized that I haven't posted a pic of my 86 Shadow in this thread yet:

Well the sad demise of my ancient Pentax continues. Sigh. However, it did manage to get half a image of my 4004 CII translucent red. And I did want to get a picture of it up to compare to Scott's very different translucent red. It certainly does appear that Scott has a much livelier flame in his wood grain but I think that the bigger difference is the darkness of the stain. I love 'em both.

Nice bass, I was beginning to think that I was the only one that liked red.

The pickgaurd on the 4003 looks strange. Different shape? Aftermarket?

No, it is the current 4003 pickguard shape. I don't like it either.

That is a shame, what was wrong with the old design?

I really hadn't noticed the difference between it and any other 4003, noticed the difference between it and my 4001s. I just got the 4001s, and It really sounds good, very full sounding, kind of suprising, I don't remember my old '78 MG sounding that full. My 4003 is actually has a little harder edge.

Has it been decapped? Or decapitated as Sérgio would probably put it.
