That's not Jeff, that's Glenn Frey!
That's the third 2030GF I've seen in photos.

I couldn't get over how hot the pickups are, much higher in output than even the horseshoe in my V63.
"That's the third 2030GF I've seen in photos"
Do you mean recently, like in the past couple of days?

A few weeks ago. The guitarists wife thought it was a good shot of "matching" guitars.

Jeff/Chris- that GF looks pretty cool, you can't beat that jetglo/silver combination.
Ed- did you get your harness in yet?

still waffling on the harness...for about the same $$ I could probably like my 4001 again (fix the output jack and get a set of TI flats). So I don't know what I'm gonna do. Again.
Except I do know I have rehearsal on Thursday and gigs Friday and Saturday. So the FG Laredo is going to get some use.

Been a lull in this thread, so thought I would throw one out there....from the 2006 Navasota Blues Festival. Not a lot of 4003s/5's at the blues festivals, I've noticed.

Hi Les, interesting shot and thought. Love the white/black.
I on occasion have hit the local blues venues in the Detroit area and do not recall ever seeing a Rick being used. I wonder if the blues culture has an issue with a RIC player?
Were there any other Ricks there?

whoops for got text:
One 5 string deserves another - at open mike night we bounced out of last month... no one said it was just one narrow Blues genre...

Gary,
I'd not go as far to say the Blues culture has issues with Ric's or Ric players, however anytime I'm playing I get raised eyebrows the first time the v63 comes out.
I get the occasional comment about the 'British Invasion', other than that I've always used Ric's to play the Blues, and the folks I've played with over the years have always liked how I make them sound.

Don't think the bass is an issue, but the style of the player (me) may be, as I am clearly more of a British Invasion type than a Blues guy. Never seems to be an issue with the audience, but our drummer gets offended if I hit a note at any time other than when he kicks his bass drum. Fortunately, we play a mix of songs (different set lists for different venues) that include classic rock tunes where I can let the Ric sound like a Ric. I have to admit that at the blues festivals, I roll the treble off a lot more than I would normally prefer to play!
