these pix are most often seen cropped.... here are the full sized images.

Hi Kent,
I think the first photograph is rather Paul with Johns 64 Rickenbacker 325, while John, in the background ,can be seen with his 325/12 !

Actually, you are right.... the 425's pickguard would look different.... me bad.
