Paul: I'm glad to see he took the time to put the name on the headstock upside down. And what's the deal with the top string at the nut? I don't know why I'm looking closely. It's probably not good for my eyes...

I don't think he sees things as we do, honestly.
He doesn't seem to be capable of drawing comparisons and considers himself a real genius.
I once asked him why he didn't study the shapes of popular guitars to work out why some are pleasing and some (his) are not. This was after my shock at seeing his original Eagle with the huge pointy horn on the treble bout.
His response (I'm paraphrasing):
'Any dickhead [his word] can make a Fender. I do things my own way. All I need is to sell one of my creations to somebody famous and I'm on my way.'
Of course, his grammar and spelling are on a par with his guitar building skills; this has been cleaned up.
Lately, he's been doing these varnished exotic wood guitars. I guess that painting color was too much for him, as a good look of his painted guitars will show.

Here's a link to his Photobucket album so you can make your own MVP calendar!
http://photobucket.com/albums/a51/mvpgretsch/?sc=1&multi=1
It recently came to light that he sold a vintage '60s 6120 single cutaway (very rare Gretsch) so that he could buy a new US Custom Shop White Falcon. He took a bath on the sale and had to kick in some cash to pay for the WF. Sensible, huh?
Then he bought a new US Custom Shop 6120 (list $12K) for $6600.00 from a dealer "as an investment", and paid for it
with a credit card!
Sure keeps the guitar hobby from being boring...

This guy actually serves a valuable purpose!
He's like the village idiot. When you're feeling depressed, worthless, stupid, clumsy, etc.,just take a look at this **** & you KNOW you're better off than this guy!
I'm serious!
You realize you aren't in that bad of a shape, & things are certainly worse for someone who doesn't realize just how foolish he is.
It's like the inmates in prison, who, if they put their talents & all the effort used for criminal pursuits to work, would find it pretty simple to make something useful from their lives instead of wasting so much time, effort & money evading responsibility.
Mpv needs a revelation, or at least an intervention.

He needs some 'wall-to-wall counseling', as the Drill Instructors say...
Along with the overall nastiness, a line carried down the center of the neck reveals a cockeyed asymmetry of the headstock...what's wrong with this thing is not limited to surface aesthetics, but goes right to the heart of what being a luthier is all about...and this guy ain't got it.
What really p*sses me off is the use of exotic endangered species wood in these monstrosities...something that keeps me up nights even when the end product is a thing of beauty, but this...this is absolutely criminal.
Only God can make a tree, like they say...but any dickhead can turn a tree into expensive rubbish. My studies of animism make me hope that the spirit of this tree will haunt this guy...and at least interrupt his sleeping patterns as much as he's interrupted mine...
Something's badly wrong with a society that tolerates (and even rewards) wannabes who have no regard for the hard work and years of study necessary to acquire skills. He gets my vote for MPV: Most Pathetic Vandal.

Really...let's not get our semantics confused, or before we know it, Mpv will start putting out Dickenbackers.
I'm sure that's something none of us wants to see...

Then he would be...
A Rickenbacker dickenhacker?
