Not to change the subject...well, okay, to change the subject...

Saturday our gamelan played a gig, performing balaganjur, a type of processional music used in Bali primarily for village exorcisms. The word translates roughly as '(the) noise (for scaring away) evil'. Coincidentally, a friend of mine out in Ca. who also plays gamelan posted a link to this vid yesterday. I mean we're good, but not this good:


Somehow, 'tight' is not a strong enough word to describe this level of ensemble playing...
