Set #23, The Last Set for me!
Whew! That took just about an hour to post all of my pictures!
First, as usual, I'd like to thank the creators of FastStone Photo Resizer for providing one of the best freeware programs available. It took only about 4 and a half minutes to resize these 91 pictures using their program.
Second, thanks to everyone who attended the Mini-Con. I had a great time, and lots of great music was played! Special thanks to Paul A. for organizing this!

Yep, great Minicon, guys.....thanks!!
Paul, as usual--- serious props for setting up everything and going out of your way for everybody, it is appreciated.
Great turnout this time, and it was very cool to see new bands (SFD, ByrdsC, and Surf band) as well as meet some forumites for the first time (Colin, Skip, Melissa).

Ah, you're all too generous. Thank you to everyone for showing up and making the event a success. More later; I'm tired. I had a date to see Iron Man 2 with a girl from school. Got a second date even.

I'm exhausted.

Thanks to Joey, my "mini Me" had a great time, looks like he - uh - I played in quite a few sets.

But I've gotta say, it wasn't really quite like being there.

Thanks to Gary for taking (and
posting) all those pictures! That made it just a bit more like being there!

Perhaps sometime in the future, I'll actually make it to one of these events, full size and in person, but it just wasn't possible this time around...

Wow, Gary.... nice job with all those pictures! I'll have a bunch of pics to post too, but will have to wait until I get home, as I can't get my camera's software to sync with the laptop.... May even have a few YouTube videos to post, if they turned out.
The variety of different music styles was great.... Loved hearing the surf music and the Byrds Collective (if you get a chance to see them play, do go; they really have an authentic Byrds sound, and are a super-nice bunch of guys who are top-notch musicians); also fun to hear Smiling Face Down and the various rock jams with Kenny Howes and company.... a good time was had by all! Thanks again, Paul, for the invite--it was great to finally have the opportunity to accept, and am sure that Marc and I will be back again sometime in the future.
Thanks again to everybody!

What an outstanding day!
I had a total blast and it was great to hear some new people play.
Kudos to Skip and his surf team and the Byrd's Collective for the entertainment, along with Smiling Face Down.
We had sooo many 12 strings hitting the first chord to "A Hard Days Night" I am sure we must have captured all the harmonics even without the piano.
Nice to see everyone again, it was the best jam yet!

Yeah, that was a killer rendition of HDN! the opening chord was quite chimey!!!

I also dug the six Rick 12s on the ultimate rendition of "16 Miles High-the altitude had to be doubled because of all the 12 strings.
It was great to just hang back for most of the show and watch everyone else play, including my friend Scott, who was able to jump on a drum kit for the first time since the 80s!

If the next one is bound to be this big, I am going to look for a restaurant bar venue that's open during the day with a P.A. so there's more room for people to hang out, and we can just order food from the kitchen. The only expense would probably be the P.A. setup. I'll look into it. The other thing we'll want to do is definitely have a sign up sheet for songs and have every guy know about 10 songs for sure, along with a signup sheet to play them, which we've talked about, but I think when the attendance gets to be this size, it's almost crucial.

That's going to take more organization on my part; I was still a bit out of sorts after finals;- barely had time to practice any of the songs, and after a whole semester of studying law, there was a bit of musical brain fade on my part.

Nice job on the pics, Gary! Yesterday was alot of fun, a great stress reliever. Nice being with everyone. Thanks for putting it together, Paulie. Good to see Melissa and Marc again and meeting some people for the first time.
Thanks to everyone that helped me with my stuff (Rich, Ross, Dan, Paulie & Gary)!
Kenny, sorry the battery was dead in the 12'er.

Good thing it has a passive mode.
