The cap is in and functioning as intended. Making it even more interesting. It's a set neck 4001S from '82 there near the end of 4001S production.

I hadn't noticed the guard change until now, I like the older design. The newer one has a "gumby" appeal to it.

Definitely. I dislike the current pickguard and headstock shapes (compared to the traditional, non-bloated looks).

At least the current guard has the knobs in parallel again.

I am glad that RIC went back to that knob layout, much better looking!

I was wondering about that knob layout since I am ordering a new guard from RIC for my 76 4001 AG, and wanted them to be in that configuration, since the original is in that configuration. I'm glad they are doing it that way now too'

For a few days, I was a six-bass man. The Fireglo Loredo came in on Friday, shots taken Sunday, and the Jetglo fretless went to Jared Nakanishi on Tuesday. Now I'm back to five.

The group includes (from top)
2002 Mapleglo 4003 with black trim and hardware (for sale!)
1993 Cheyenne (I) bought from Dave Westheimer
1972 Mapleglo (now "Honeyglo")
1997 Fireglo Loredo
2000 Jetglo fretless with black trim and hardware (on its way to Hawaii
and the Teutonic interloper, 2003 Hofner 5000/1 Deluxe Beatle Bass. Enjoy!Image

Hi gang, I'm in Florida visiting my folks for a week. The 2002 Mapleglo with black trim is for sale and you can see more photos on the "Ricks for Sale" forum, too. I want to start negotiations at $1,500, keeping in mind that it is dead mint, and the black trim and hardware are no longer available options. The Mapleglo is very light maple wood, almost like birch. It looks nearly white in some photos. Jared just bought the all-black fretless. I can't get my e-mail from here, Jared, so hope you got mine with the tracking number. I might be able to check back in here in a couple of days. If anybody is interested in the MG BT, post here for now and I'll try to get back to you.

Hey Paul, Very Noce Collection! Not sure if I would have let the JG BT FL go though. Not sure which one I would let go... I'm getting to that point myself though - running out of basses I'm willing to trade for...!
