Wow. Sorry to hear that! I'm glad you're up and about again.

There has been a lung infection going around down here, and I did get it a few weeks ago around Labor Day, but I kicked it. I suppose you had it and the CV leak irritated your lungs.

Looking forward to seeing the double-bound bass! It is a favorite of mine, and, judging from all the interest in 4005s, of many others'.

Thanks for all the good thoughts. The prostate thing was something I did a routine checkup on. All men over 50 should have this checked once a year. It can take your life away so fast if not caught in time. Lucky for me it was just an infection. The Bass I am looking so forward to building, I think Jetglo with Gold parts will be a knock out, and make those C.P. inlays sparkle even more. So now I'll not be such a stranger to the Forum.

Before you finalize your plans, Dale, maybe you should consider building a lightshow bass. I mean, who wouldn't love to see that constructed? Glad to hear you are coming along. You shall be in my prayers.

Dale, Sorry to hear you were under the weather! I thought it odd when you were conspiculously absent. Glad to hear you are doing better. Here's hoping that backlog of work becomes managable. I can hardly wait.

The guitar plays like a dream to me. But that's because I shaped the neck to my own hands off course. So that's very personal. I can best describe the neck as a tapered D style. It weighs a lot though because of the solid maple body.
The 2 seymour duncan vintage mini humbuckers do what they're supposed to do: give vintage sounds.
The combination with the all maple body and ebony fingerboard gives a 'jangly' though very rich in harmonics vintage sound. Exactly what I was looking for. A plus for the SD's is their relatively high output.

Dale offers great and sound advice for those of us over 50- get that checkup! I'll add to his comments.

I had prostate cancer at the end of last year but because it was caught early and that I'm relatively young for this (55), the surgery and recovery was only a six month's annoyance- as opposed to the alternative.

Just do it!

And while we're on the subject, if the lady in your life is not having regular mammograms, please encourage her also to 'just do it'! My wife was diagnosed with breast cancer about 3 1/2 years ago, thanks to an eagle-eyed radiologist who picked up a very subtle change from her previous image. The treatment was successful, and significantly less invasive than it could have been with later detection.

Good advice from both John and David, and I'll add one more without trying to turn this into a medical board.

If you are over 50 you should get a routine Colonoscopy.

I have had three people I know this year, all early 50's and previously very healthy, diagnosed with various forms of Colorectal cancer. And, only one of the three was symptomatic.

We should call this thread "How To Stay Healthy While Building A Neck Thru Body Guitar"!

Wim your guitar looks great. You must be very happy with your finished instrument. I can see a lot of hand work went into building this. Feel free to ask any questions you may have about the construction steps in building a guitar. The next project will be much more labor intensive since this will be a hollow body instrument with Dbl. binding on top and back sides. I may use Ivoroid and Abalone binding on it. For sure this one will be figured Koa Wood, one of my favorites. I will get started in January.
