I think Mr. Hall said the folks on the floor were all models, actors, stand-ins, whatever. Did anyone tell the guy polishing the FG if he drops it, he buys it?

If they would've contacted ME to do it, I would've agreed to do it for a 4004Cii/BBR in lieu of a cash payment....PLUS, I probably could've handed JH a drink through that window from the floor without a ladder...

At another forum, someone who must be linguistically challenged seemed to think this ad isn't what a guitar factory looks like and that he knows better than I do what I actually see out my window.
Here's exactly what I see out my window while sitting at my desk. The acoustic factory area where they shot the ad is in the upper left corner, the tail end of the assembly department for electric guitars in in the upper right, and final packaging is in the lower foreground. The quiet rooms against the rear walls are where final adjustment and inspection is performed.
For comparison,
here's a snapshot taken during the shoot itself.

Yes - Thanks Mr. Hall.
Not at all what I expected - sawdust, noisy machinery everywhere.
Now there's a "room with a view"!!!
Anytime you'd like to show us some more pictures...

Mr. Hall, thanks for sharing the birdseye view pics with us. Nice to see the quiet, clean "end of the tunnel" where our beloved babies are prepared before leaving "the womb".
What's the function of that ferris wheel thing, Mr. Hall? I suppose it's for drying the acoustic guitars' finish or glue?

John, I'm the only real employee in the photo. The rest are professional models. Kenny didn't come in that day because we didn't want to scare the IBM people.
Paul, we give every guitar a ride just to instill a little thrill in them and give them some happy memories before you folks beat on them.
Actually, it's used to glue together the tops for acoustic guitars. It's something we designed and built fairly recently and has a pneumatic assist system for movement and locking functions. It's based on an old piece of equipment we had at the old factory for laminating operations, which was a real clunker by comparison.
