I hadn't noticed before, but that flamy Ernie Ball/Musicman guitar with the 4 humbuckers...the guy had enough energy to add all that stuff to the guitar but not enough to learn the notes!
So what does he do? Puts the names of the notes ON THE NECK! DUH!
He probably gets someone else to tune it for him as well. Image

Kevin, that's the Spinal Tap guitar, and it was meant as a gag...

Sheena, the Backpacker is another modern classic. First conceived by Martin. Their patent protection must've been slim or has run out. So now we've got the 99 cent store copies...

...well... i give up... maybe i'm just too conservative when it comes to acoustic guitars' shapes... okay, something else to learn, which is great anyway (and this time i was clever enough to say sorry in advance, hehe...)

I've got a Martin backpacker....it's kind of a strange looking guitar, but it's not too bad for what it is: a compact, lightweight guitar made to take on a trip when a full-sized guitar is not practical. It's certainly better than NO guitar at all, which is more than can be said for most of the others in this thread, LOL!

You know Paul, if they ever work out a way to download the information in our brains, and you decide to do it, can I have a copy? Boy what a resource that would be!!!!

Just completed another round of "look at my latest abomination" on gretschpages.com. He keeps building this junk and posting. A few denizens are beginning to lose patience, though.

We've decided that he is a true crackpot. This is a term that I haven't heard much in the past 25 years or so. but it fits well.

Lunatic is another.

Just been on Gretschpages. This close up of the neck is just depressing.

If you look closely, you can see how the width jigs and jags (see the area around fret 13). Also interesting: Note how the grain of the fretboard seems to disappear where the fret marker blocks are... Name upside down on peghead.

His comment on the name upside down issue?

"precision tools..Nah that wouldn't make builing it any fun and they do play well Logo.. who made it that it should be up down sideways, I didn't know there was a rule, Oh wait I just looked it up in the guitar encyclopedia.... guitar placement logo on headstock.."

So the guy has a bad attitude on top of everything else.

As woeful as his guitars are and as frustrating and ridiculous as his attitude is, the whole phenomenon is undeniably interesting. or something. maybe i'm just new to it.

And why the second identity Paul? Or should i say...cardes97467854???

Poor trees... what's his email address? Feel a desperate need to send him a message: "Dear MPV, Greenpeace is looking after you!"... hmmm... Image
