I've just been swimming (it's gone well beyond wading) through the posts on SCARF. Didn't see any word on a Rickenbacker factory tour like we were able to for the 75th. Any word on a possibility of this?

Thanks,
Jim
Sorry, but the 75th was an official, company event; this is not.

This is an event hosted by some of the So Cal forum members. We do it for the love of our Ricks, the appreciation of the people of RIC and because we enjoy getting together and displaying our Ricks.
We also appreciate the attendance of the Hall family as well as anyone who works at RIC, the performance of Hautewerk and any help or advice that we get from JH.
Although this is not an official RIC company event, behind the scenes, JH is being a big help. We'll have plenty to thank him for when SCARF is over.
Since this is an event the forum members planned on having, we don't expect JH to do anything he wasn't planning on doing.

JH has been wonderful and we can't thank him enough! There is much that goes into putting one of these things together (as I am finding out this year), and things have been falling into place quite nicely.

This is not a RIC company sponsored event but make no mistake, it is going to be an event!

Some of us got together last Saturday to nail down the details of the day, and anyone who is making it in for SCARF can expect an awesome day of food, drinks (if you want them), guitars, basses, amps, music, jamming, fun, meeting new friends, and re-connecting with some you haven't seen in a bit, or just don't get to see very often.

It sounds like there will be a great mix of new, used, modern, vintage, and one-of-a-kind instruments around to drool over, and maybe even get a chance to play. Not to mention amazing luthiers like Paul W. and Larry Davis who can help you realize the personalized Rick of your dreams.

We've got forumites coming in from other Country's, other states, and from all over California; and yes, a special mid afternoon set from Hautewerk as the icing on the cake (and maybe even some cake too).

Only about 2 1/2 more weeks, I can't wait :)

In addition to the guitar-techs mentioned, noted Rickenbacker Amplifier authority Tracy Sands will be joining us. :) In addition to his wealth of knowledge about all-things Ric amps, (and his supply of parts) 8) Tracy also said he might sit in on some keyboards and bass for a few tunes during the SCARF jamming !!

Have we heard from Louis C. (Rickendelic) and Colin N. (Suedehead) yet ? What about Henry P. in Palm Springs ?

And keep signing up for songs on the Google Spreadsheet --- SCARF Jam List. :D
https://spreadsheets.google.com/spreads ... y=CIODn_gO

(Thanks to Snowman and Vito for signing on to the Jam sheet yesterday ! )

Now if we can just figure out how to rotate all the volunteers we have, who are interested in playing in the various combinations as "Jake and Friends" ..... seems to be one of the more popular jam attractions !!

thought i RSVP'd for this ages ago? I am a YES.

We need get Rich a FB page even if his name there is: Richie Rickenbacker. That way he'll be anonymous and only the people who know of his page would find or friend him.

If he uses "Rickenbacker" people will flood his message page with complaints that "the bevels aren't right on the John Lennon model, and you used the wrong screws. .. ." or "can I order a . . Why don't you guys make. . . .how about a . . . " and so on. . ;)

Maybe he could use "Kasabian" in honor of his new guitar (I know it's not a slant fret 481, but it's close).

Still looking forward to coming. The Set list appears to be pretty well covered though. No shortage of Players. Maybe I'll just watch, meet you folks & check out the Gear. Should be a blast!

I just signed up for "Eight Miles High." I hope a certain Byrds Collective musician, whose initials are Pat Hayes, will join in on that one. (hint, hint)
