Thanks, guys. I'm pretty happy with how it turned out, too.

Jeff - is that your Jetglo-to-Walnutglo refin? That's a nice healthy gap it has between the neck pickup cavity and the edge of the fretboard.

You know, the more I'm looking at the slight variation in the two pickguards, I'm thinking that just shifting Rick's down about ⅛" and back towards the tailpiece by about 1/16th-to-3/32nds" would set it at about the same relation to the HS pickup and neck as Paul's. That would tighten the gap at the front of the HS surround, and create the gap below the surround and at the end of the fretboard. I think it would work to just make a new PG using Rick's "edited version" as the template and just shift the screw holes over. hmmm.... will confer with the owner.

Well I'm not sure what Rickenbacker used as a template for the c64s -- or if they used one at all. The overall shape looks awfully close to the standard 4003 in the second photo.

Not sure. You'd have to ask Paul.

For fun I thought I'd post an authenitc picture of the 4001S that I personally took at the old Boston Garden during the Wings Across America Tour. A super nice roadie acrtually let me get up close to take this and it is a precious treasure for me.

It's not a link nor attachment, just some text. Eddied needs to properly attach that image.
