Another wonder: a marshall amp, looks like a bunch of old rock 'n rollers to me, haha!

There is a pair of those Marshall Acoustic series amps on that stage although myself and the guitarist pictured would be the only ones to qualify as old R&R's. Mandolin, rhythm and dobro players always have been and always will be bluegrass and country folk.

I love bluegrass, love the harmonies. I had a Ricky Skaggs tune out in Lima and everyone that heard it was amazed. I forgot the name but it was a blazing bluegrass type tune with a bunch of very fast solos, was a very big hit some years ago. Country Boy?

(Posting this on behalf of Jeff Thomas) -

The photos are (sort of a before and after I guess) of me playing my first Rick (Whitey!) in 1985, and me playing Tim's Sea Green v63 in 2003.

Thanks again Ilan-

One of these days, (probably 50 years from now!) I'll get myself up to speed with 21st century technology.

Thanks Marc. That was the one (Whitey)I bought when I was 15 with money saved from painting houses! (Damn kids...blowing their college money!) I think I'm playing ZZ Top's Sharp Dressed Man! Unfortunately it has been a long time since Whitey looked so nice. He's now an offensive shade of Mucasglo with a peeling clearcoat on the fretboard and around one MILLION finish checks! (Enter Mike Dolan?)

The Sea Green belonged to Tim Sarter. (so I guess technically I shouldn't have posted it on a thread named "post a picture of you playing YOUR ric" as it was never MINE, but what the heck!) As for the goofy s#@t-eating grin on my face...well that's just what happens to you when you play a Sea Green Rick!

Enjoy!
Play what you love, love what you play!

Yes, a '91. There's an '80 4003LH on a stand just out of the frame.

Nope, bought it new, off the rack at Southpaw Guitars for $1000.
In '92 I had seen it at a guitar show here in Austin, a few months later on a Friday afternoon I got a $1000 bonus, next morning I drove the 4 hours from Austin to Houston and it was mine.
